As you probably already know not all collagen supplements are great for weight loss. There are various reasons why you should avoid certain collagen products in regards to losing weight. One type of product you should stay away from is collagen cream because collagen creams out of all the collagen products has the least benefits. The fact of the matter is that is scientifically impossible because the collagen molecules are too big to be able to pass to the skin barrier therefore cannot being absorbed by the body. And since that’s the case you would be better off buying a moisturizer and saving a lot of money in the process. With that being said, this is one of the obvious reasons why it’s not great collagen product when it comes to weight loss.
Collagen Patches Aren’t Any Better
The same problems that we outline for the creams are the same problems with the patches. Because they don’t pass through the skin barrier any benefit that you’ll get will be superficial in nature. Not to mention some collagen creams/patches manufacturers use very weird ingredients to say the least. Though not commonly found in supplements, some manufacturers of collagen creams and face masks use dead human baby fetuses as one of their ingredients according to Time.com. There are a lot of activist groups that are protesting this use of aborted fetuses and some collagen companies have been under scrutiny for participating in that practice. So that’s just something you should be mindful of because at the end of the day you really don’t know what you’re putting on your skin and face.
Somewhat similar to Botox as you would imagine injecting collagen in any part of your body won’t help reduce weight or increase any fat loss. Yet you’re looking to spend upwards of a few hundred if not thousands of dollars just to get this procedure performed when in fact you can get even better results which will benefit your body in many different ways just by simply drinking supplements instead. The reason why people undergo collagen injections is the same reason why people undergo Botox, to help reduce wrinkles at the end of the day it’s not necessary. Not to mention if things go horribly wrong with injections there is no way to reverse the procedure. Most of the collagen being injected is inorganic in nature and therefore won’t be that effective.
So with all that being said, if you’re serious about losing weight without trying to break the bank just stick with a goods oral supplement for collagen. By doing so, you’ll get way more benefits without all the negative side effects that she would probably get by utilizing collagen in a different form.
